Our 14th annual “Fireworks in the Park” will be held on Thursday, July 4th, from about 3:00 p.m. until the fireworks are completed, that will be about 9:30 to 10:00 p.m. The afternoon will be full of many funactivities including: A variety of FOOD VENDORS will be available around the walking trail from approximately 2:00 to 9:30 p.m.
FREE INFLATIBLES for kids of all ages will be available from approximately 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. om the south and east end of the park.
FREE FACE PAINTING & BALLOON TWISTERS will be available in the Community Room from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.PLEASE NOTE: The Community Room doors will be CLOSED at 8:00 p.m. with no further entries, so you are highly encouraged to get in line early. (Do you know someone with talent as a balloon twister or face painter? If so, please have them contact Mayor Hickey at 417-343-2551. We would like to hire additional talent for this event.)
FREE LIVE MUSIC will perform throughout the afternoon and evening for your listening enjoyment. There will be a variety of music. so stay tuned to the Battlefield Facebook page for additional details. Included in your evening will be a special salute to America’s Birthday and our Veterans at approximately 8:00 p.m. The evening will culminate with FIREWORKS IN THE PARK which will start at dusk.
As in past years, only handicapped parking is allowed on the City Hall parking lot. FREE Shuttle buses will run continuously beginning at 3:00 p.m. from the following locations:First Baptist Church of Battlefield (corner of FF Highway and Weaver); Battlefield Assembly of God Church (5154 S, FF Highway); Wilson Creek Intermediate School (4035 W. Weaver Road); and McBride Elementary School (5005 S. Farm Road 135 — corner of F.R. 135 and Weaver.)
