Fireworks in the Park

Our 13th annual “Fireworks in the Park” will be held on Wednesday, July 4th, from 4:00 p.m. until after the fireworks, which will be about 9:30 p.m.

The afternoon and evening will be full of many fun activities, as well as sun and HEAT, so bring your sunglasses, lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, awnings, and sunscreen (but remember NO ALCOHOL or PERSONAL FIREWORKS . Please note: Earplugs will be available free of charge at the concession stand until they are gone for individuals with sensory issues, such as autism and PTSD.

A variety of FOOD VENDORS will be available around the park walking trail from approximately 2:00 to 9:30 p.m.

INFLATABLES for kids of all ages will be available from approximately 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the southeast end of the park.

FACE PAINTING & BALLOON TWISTERS will be available in the Community Room from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Community Room doors will be closed at 8:00 p.m. with no further entries. Please do not wait until 8:00 p.m. to get in line … as you will have disappointed children! Please come early and get in line.

{We would like to hire one additional balloon twister and face painter, so if you are interested, please call Mayor Hickey at (417) 343-2551}.

LIVE MUSIC: The Sam-A-Lama Band will perform at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for your listening enjoyment with a variety of music from oldies to current hits. You won’t want to miss this!

Included in your evening will be a special salute to America’s BIRTHDAY and our VETERANS at approximately 7:00 p.m. The evening will culminate with FIREWORKS IN THE PARK just after sunset … approximately 9:00ish P.M.

Due to the very limited PARKING, ONLY HANDICAP Placard PARKING & Drop-off are available at CITY HALL. There will be FISK SHUTTLES running from 4 locations beginning at 2:00 p.m. and running nonstop until the last person leaves the park. Shuttle Stops will be at the following parking areas:

Battlefield First Baptist: FF @ Weaver.

Battlefield Assembly of God: 5154 FF Hwy.

Wilson Creek School: 4035 W. Weaver Rd.

McBride School: 5005 S. FR 135 (Golden @ Weaver)

Shuttles will unload and reload throughout the afternoon and evening at our Public Works Building which is at the dead end on Third Street. This is located immediately west of the park.

Please follow the directions of the Battlefield Police Officers and Greene County Deputies who will be on duty to assist you. There will be
NO ON STREET PARKING on Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street or Elm Street Between FF Highway and Cloverdale. Please do the right thing and follow this request.

Donations to help defray the cost of the evening’s activities would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be mailed to City Hall, 5434 S. Tower Dr. Battlefield, MO 65619; Dropped off at City Hall or given at the concession stand the day of the event. If you make a donation, please let us know it’s for “Fireworks In The Park.”
