SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Greene County will host the Sons of the American Revolution at Phelps Grove Park on Apr. 19 to celebrate Patriot Day. 2025 marks 250 years since the Battle of Lexington and Concord in 1775, the “shot heard around the world.” It was the first military engagement of the American Revolutionary War between British troops and colonial militias in Massachusetts. Members of the Ozark Mountain Chapter will participate in a ceremony for the media and public. Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate as well.
