A NEW MESSAGE FROM REPUBLIC SERVICES
"Good afternoon,
Unfortunately, Republic Services will not be running any residential routes on Friday, February 21st. We will pick those customers up on their next service day, taking all. For those that also had recycling missed this week, they will be recovered on their next normal recycling day. Please keep in mind, next week we will probably be running late in most areas due to double trash. Hopefully, this is the last of the winter weather!

Due to the inclement weather heading our way, the offices at City Hall will close at noon today (02/18/2025).

There will be an Economic Development Commission meeting on Thursday, February 20th at 8:30 a.m. in City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.


With both Springfield and Republic Schools already closed, and the inclement weather predicted to arrive on Tuesday, February 18th, the Battlefield Municipal Division Court has been continued/rescheduled, per order of the Judge, to Tuesday, March 18th at 2:00 p.m. All defendants, who were scheduled to appear on February 18th, will receive a Notice of a New Court Date via the mail, with information regarding their new court date. With the forecasted winter weather approaching, we want to keep you informed about the City's snow removal plans.
🔴 Red Routes (Primary Focus) – Our crews will prioritize clearing Red Routes first to ensure major roads remain passable.
🔵 Blue Routes (Secondary Focus) – Crews will move to Blue Routes only after all Red Routes are clear.
All Other Areas – Crews will not begin work on additional areas until all Red &Blue Routes have been fully addressed.

There will be Municipal Court on Tuesday, February 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the court room at City Hall.


CANCELLATION NOTICE: The Board of Alderman meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall has been cancelled.

There will be an Advisory Park Board Meeting on Thursday, February 13th at 6:30 p.m. inside City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.


It has been proclaimed that February 10th - February 16th will be "Ronald McDonald House Week" in the City of Battlefield. We invite you and your family to drop by the Battlefield McDonald's on West Republic Road near FF and show your support for this worthy cause!

There will be a Planning & Zoning Meeting on Monday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall. This is the special hearing that was originally announced on January 22nd. The public is always encouraged to attend.


If you intend on conducting business in the City of Battlefield in 2025, you can obtain a City Business License. The fee is $16.00 payable by cash, money order, or by check during our normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Construction is still occurring inside City Hall, but the drop box is still available should you not need or want to run inside.
Remember, if you do need to come inside for City business, please use the north entrance.

IMPORTANT: At 2 p.m. on Friday, January 31st, City Hall will be closed as we move the Utility Clerk's office to the north side of the building in preparation for remodeling/construction work to be done on the current, older office. Beginning on Monday, February 3rd, at 8 a.m. anyone needing to drop off a payment, set up an account, request records, apply for a business license, rent the community room, or anything else during the regular business day, will need to enter via that north door (the old Police Department entrance).
EXCEPTIONS: Municipal Court and regularly scheduled meetings (Board Meetings) will continue to use the west entrance as normal.

Construction work will begin soon on the front office and the Utility Clerk's customer window at City Hall. Stay tuned for more information this week or next that will impact what entrance you'll use and where, inside, you'll make your payments and conduct other city business over the next few weeks and/or months. Until such news is made, please continue to use the west entrance.
